Camden - The Real MVP

Job hunting? As a prospective employee hoping to land a job the focus tends to be on highlighting your qualifications and on acing interviews. Don’t forget, in this process the employer isn’t the only one doing the scouting.  You too are in the position to seek a workplace that meets your qualifications!

As The Big Game approaches, let’s think about it using a sports analogy. As a free agent, is this employer the team you want to commit to?

About 8 months ago I ended my free agency and committed to joining the Camden Team after being brought on as a Leasing Consultant at Camden Doral.  I choose to work at Camden because it is, undeniably, the MVP. Most Valuable Property trust that is!

What makes Camden MVP? I am glad you asked!

Based On Values:
As I prepared to interview for the open Leasing Consultant position in Camden Doral I delved into Camden’s Website to learn more about the company. I was immediately drawn to the fact that Camden’s culture is based on a set of 9 Values. In my interviews it became evident that these values are the foundation of the company.

"People Driven" is one Camden’s Values. When I learned that the property manager and district manager who interviewed me each had been with Camden over 10 years I instantly knew this was an employer that values its employees.

From my first day on the job I’ve witnessed and experienced the numerous forms of recognition, support and opportunities Camden provides to it’s people.  It’s no wonder people join, and stay with, Camden.
Philanthropic
I am proud to work for a company that is invested in giving back. Camden Cares is the company's initiative encompassing all of the charitable events and projects Camden participates in. I experienced my first Camden Cares event last October during which the South Florida Camden Properties partnered with Rebuilding Together to repair and revitalize a retired U.S Veteran’s home. Working alongside fellow Camden employees in such rewarding efforts was incredibly fulfilling.  Read more about my experience and the event in my blog post here.

Camden Cares events, projects and drives occur throughout each of the cities Camden serves.  Who wouldn’t be proud to be a part of a company that gives backs to it communities?

Can’t Deny the Stats
Let’s get back to that sports analogy for a minute. When analyzing the value of Camden, we can’t ignore the numbers!

In 2015 Camden was recognized, as number 10, on Fortune’s100 Best Companies to Work For® list. This is the 8th year that Camden has been included on the list!
Camden also landed on a few other Fortune®/ Great Place to Work® lists including: 100 Best Workplaces for Women as well as the inaugural 100 Best Workplaces for Millennials and 50 Best Workplaces for Camaraderie. Camden also notably landed in the #1 spot on the 50 Best Workplaces for Diversity!
Camden Doral ladies jumping for joy!

The Bottom Line
I love my job! Every day I wake up and look forward to going to work. I am incredibly grateful to work for a company where I am valued and my contributions are recognized and celebrated.  Lastly, I am honored to be a part of a Company that is based on strong values and has a philanthropic spirit.

There you have it! A quick snapshot highlighting why I see Camden as the real MVP. Of course, as a New England Patriots fan, I know an MVP when I see one!

Hautelook Hauling- Mattesse Elite

Hi Lovelies! I'm excited to share with you my first official Haul! Not too long ago, I did a bit of shopping on Hautelook. For those you who don't know.... it is a free, members-only website that offers flash sales featuring some of the best names in Accessories, Beauty, Home Decor an Kid's Men's and Women's  Fashion. Personally, I have only purchased Beauty and Decor products, BUT LET ME TELL YOU, the prices are unbeatable, usually discounted between 40% and 75%!

This time around I was enticed by their Ricky's NYC- Mattesse Elite flash sale. The variety in products, pretty colors and fun names drew me in.  They were selling each item for $5 or less,  so I seized the opportunity and went to town!

The eye items I purchased are: Pure Color Powder in Pure Pink and Pure Blue,  Luminous Pearl Effect Eyeshadow in Indian JewelLong Wear Matte Eyeshadow in SubmissionStar Dust Powder in Kaleidoscope and Glitzy.

Over all I am super impressed with the quality and color payoff of these products. I am most looking forward to playing with Kaleidoscope (definitely a dupe for MAC pigment Blue Brown), and Pure Pink. I think First Timer may become my go to for a nude lip, the color is spot on for my complexion!

Have you tried any Mattesse Elite Products before? Let me know what you think!
